Principal's Message

I am sure we would all agree that it is great to be at Level 3 and we are now looking forward to getting to Level 2 so that we can all come together in person again. Week 6 was always meant to be the exciting week of camp for Te Maunga but of course, it needed to be postponed.  Going to Teapot Valley is a highlight of the intermediate years at St Anthony’s so please say your prayers that we can all go on the new date of Week 9.

The learning for our tamariki has continued to impress us all and we thank you all for your commitment to supporting your child/ren. 10 students even managed to complete the ICAS test on Monday with me so thank goodness for Google Meet! Te Moana have been drawing their Distance Learning Spaces and I thank Suki, Issy, Monesa, Joseph, Abby, and Parvati for sharing their spaces with us

We are thrilled to say that St Anthony’s is off to the Zoo this Monday albeit virtually! Thanks to Wellington Zoo and Francesca von Lanthen’s prompt response, all our tamariki will be joining a video call with the Zoo team. The focus is on Caring for Animals, specifically what that looks like right now while we are in Lockdown and the staff will even include a few Believe it or Not facts for us too! Thanks, Wellington Zoo and Francesca for a great start to Monday’s learning.

Just a reminder that at this stage we are planning to have:-

  • Te Maunga Camp in Week 9
  • The Grandparents Mass will be rescheduled, most likely early Term 4
  • Teachers Only Day at this stage is rescheduled for the final day of the term. Again we will confirm this as the see how NZ progress through the Covid Levels

Thanks for all the messages of support to the staff over these weeks. We really appreciate it. We look forward to all our tamariki joining us for Onesie or PJs day tomorrow!

Ngā manaakitanga.
