Te Maunga students recently returned from their much-anticipated camp at Teapot Valley, and what an incredible time they had! Sam and I loved seeing them thrive in this environment. The adventure began with a scenic, yet rocky ferry journey across the Cook Strait, a first for many students. Upon arrival, they were immediately immersed in a whirlwind of exciting activities, from navigating the low ropes course to perfecting their aim in archery. The camp provided invaluable opportunities for our students to develop their independence, communication, and teamwork. A huge thank you to Darren Handscomb and Sam Cripps, as well as everyone at Teapot Valley for making this amazing experience possible! See what Te Maunga has to say about camp further down.
Meanwhile, while we were away, our Year 1-6 students put on an incredible show for our Kāhui Ako's Cultural Celebration, and we couldn't be prouder of their hard work and talent. We loved watching the video of ther performance while we were away on camp. It was wonderful to see their confidence shine on stage. A huge thank you to Sophie Smyth and Eibhlín McAteer who supported and prepared the tamariki so well.
We warmly invite you to our "Learning in Action" Morning next Tuesday, 26th August. This is a special opportunity to step inside our classrooms and experience firsthand the exciting learning happening at our school. You are welcome to pop in anytime between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. This is an informal, come-and-go event. We also encourage you to pass this invitation on to anyone who might be interested in seeing our school in action—grandparents, other family members, or friends considering our school for their child.
Just a friendly reminder that Book Day is Tuesday, 2nd September. We invite all students to come to school dressed as their favorite book character to celebrate the joy of reading. We can't wait to see all the creative costumes and hear about the wonderful characters you've chosen!
