Naumai e te whānau o te kura St Anthony's Tēnā Koutou Katoa
Dear Parents and Caregivers
End of Term 1
Thank you to our amazing staff who endeavour to go above and beyond for our students. We are so blessed to have such a highly professional and committed group of staff who are passionate about teaching and learning, and building effective relationships with students and their whānau.
End of Term Student Report Comments
End of Term comments were released this afternoon on LINC-ED. These are bulk published so you don't receive an email. There are comments for Writing, Mathematics and Learn About Faith under 'Learning in Year __' (choose your child's current Year group).
The goal progressions have also been updated so that you can see where your child is working against the curriculum. The following diagram explains the curriculum levels in relation to the year levels.
You can access your LINC-ED account by clicking here: https://stants.linc-ed.com/wp-login.php If you require assistance, please contact Yvonne in the Office.
Lockdown Drill
Thank you to everyone for your support during the School Lockdown Drill on Monday afternoon. This was the first time that we have involved parents in our practice by sending an email and text through Signmee. This was to give you an indication of what the message would look like if there was to be a lockdown at our school. Thank you to Miss Williams, our Civil Defence leader for working alongside myself and the staff to ensure we had a smooth practice. The students were exceptional and the practice ran very smoothly. If you have any feedback, please do not hesitate to contact the office to let us know, and we can add this to our evaluation.
A reminder that we ask for students to bring in two named muesli bars that we can store in classrooms along with our supply of water, should they be needed. Many thanks for your support.
2019 Triennial Board of Trustees Elections
With the 2019 Board of Trustees elections on 7 June, all members of our community are encouraged to “make a difference for our school” and become a trustee. Trustees are active leaders in our school and we need more people willing to use their skills and experiences for the benefit of our tamariki. Trustees have an important role supporting strong professional leadership and effective teaching for all students through informed governance. If you are interested in putting your name forward for the 2019 Board of Trustees election, I encourage you to go to www.nzsta.org.nz for more information and to look out for School Trustee Election notices in our Newsletters.
A reminder that the final day of term tomorrow is Mufti for the students with a gold coin donation for Caritas. School will finish at the normal time of 2.55pm.
The staff and I wish families a safe, enjoyable and restful school holidays and Easter break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Monday 29 April.

PRINCIPAL
The Board would like to thank all our staff for their hard work and commitment shown during Term 1. It's hard to believe it's only been 10 weeks with the number of learning activities they have packed in for our students. We're very lucky to have such wonderful staff led by a Principal who develops such a huge range of opportunities to suit all our students. Thanks to our community as well for all their help this term in supporting our school and students, including the huge effort that went into the Bazaar. We hope you all have a well-deserved break during the special Easter holiday.
