Board Update: Acting Principal appointment
The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Mrs Denise Johnson, our Deputy Principal, has been appointed to the role of Acting Principal from Term 4 until a new principal is appointed. This is a role that Denise has previously filled successfully at St Anthony’s School.
Denise is well known in our school and has been a teacher at St Anthony’s for the last 17 years. We are confident in her ability to lead our school and ensure a smooth transition for the students, teachers and the wider school community.
Recruiting a new principal is one of the most important things the Board will do. We will be appointing a specialist consultant to assist us in the recruitment process and we intend to advertise the position of Principal next week. We will keep the school community informed with regular updates.

Will Denise continue to co-teach Tui Class with Mrs Helen Revill for Term 4?
Yes. Denise will continue to co-teach years 7 & 8 students in Tui Class on Wednesdays and whenever else she is needed, during Term 4.
Helen currently shares the co-teaching role with Denise and will take on 2 additional days for teaching Tui Class. Helen and Denise will continue to collaborate in order to ensure the continuity of learning and teaching for the class.
What is the recruitment process and timeline for appointing a new Principal?
The Board will contract an external facilitator with expertise in appointing school leaders to assist in the search for our new Principal. The position will be advertised in the New Zealand Gazette (a forum for advertising teaching vacancies in New Zealand).
